ReStructure Mix Update (5/31/19) “Tossing, Turning and Swinging” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Shalamar

Shalamar is one of early disco-soul ensembles to emerge with hits medley from 1977 titled “Uptown Festival” – produced by Simon Soussan. The track consisted of Motown dance hits blended into a tight disco song with a colorful arrangement and great inception for Shalamar. Their disco years were defiantly their notable time with “Take That To The Bank” and “Tossing, Turning and Swinging”. The group made a move into the arena of soul glazed disco with the soulful vocals and electronic funk being devised by Dick Griffey.

I have taken the album version of “Tossing, Turning and Swinging” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix adding some beats and percussion to play along. The great Motown-esque song brings back that shimmy-shimmy feel and a soulful touch that only Shalamar can create.
