El Coco is the magic
of W. Michael Lewis and Laurin Rinder – a duo which brought the first wave of
underground disco to the mid-70’s. Their music was a deep groove of 50’s band
along with disco strings and percussion. “Under Construction” is from their
third album from 1976 titled “Let’s Get It Together” – another tailored project
for the dance floors craving a sound for the growing disco sound. This anthem
is one of the statements which work well with the downbeat groove and uplifting
chorus. It brings promise to an ongoing and troubled world.
I have taken the
album version of “Under Construction” and rebuilt a ReStructure Mix adding more
percussion and a lengthier play. The bass pieces are the play for the intro and
the drop out at the end only shows a greater promise for this focus.
