ReStructure Mix Update (9/24/19) “Where Did Our Love Go” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Amii Stewart

Amii Stewart is one of disco music’s premier performers and with her big disco hit “Knock On Wood” from 1978 she is an elite part of music history. Her 1981 album “I’m Gonna Get Your Love” features a cover of The Supremes classic “Where Did Our Love Go” – produced by Narada Michael Walden. This piece was featured on the first 12” single from the project and has the edge which we remember best as Amii steers her way through a mass of disco electronics weaving in and out. It is also a nice slick cover of the Motown classic and nice sensual vocal approach for Amii. Always a nice blend for me during afterhour’s moments where a nice reminder of disco ingenuity works.

I have taken the 12” version and recreated a new ReStructure Mix working those drum tracks and the jittery synthesizers into a new question for Amii. This one also contains a rolling fade for perhaps more energy.
