REISSUE: “Once Bitten Twice Shy” by Vesta – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Vesta (Mary Vesta Williams) is an R&B singer who recorded a few dance single in the mid-to-late 80s and immediately became one of the top female vocals in the soul/r&b circuit. Her 1986 album “Vesta” contained two of the big r&b singles in the club circuit: “Something About You” and “Once Bitten Twice Shy”. The single “Once Bitten Twice Shy” is the focus of this Disco Video Mix. The song was produced by David Crawford – who also produced Chuck Cissel’s “Cisslin’ Hot”.
I have taken scenes from the 1979 comedy-romance film, “Love At First Bite” starring George Hamilton and Susan Saint James. It is a light Dracula spoof with the Count searching New York for his bride and eventually finds her in a discothèque. But not without difficulty and laughter.
The film was directed by Stan Dragoti
