REISSUE: “Sorry, Wrong Number” by Evelyn Thomas – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Sorry, Wrong Number” by Evelyn Thomas – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Evelyn Thomas gave dance floors another stage with her powerful vocal delivery and a hardcore Broadway-like disco flair created by Ian Levine and Fiachra Trench. The real peak was Evelyn’s 1984 hit “High Energy” transformed a new dance period with an appropriate title. Many of her singles were in the style which seemed to blend well with the excitement of love and the sorrow of heartbreak. “Sorry, Wrong Number” was released in 1985 and was featured on Evelyn’s 1986 album “Standing At The Crossroads”. Here she puts an end to a bad romance and breakup which seems to appear when no longer needed. A great high energy piece with a catchy melody. I have taken the 1948 suspense film, “Sorry, Wrong Number” starring Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster – a bit of twisting its story to outline the disco track. The film noir plays out in a new drama with both heroines saying “goodbye”. The film was directed by Anatole Litvak Featuring scenes from “Sorry, Wrong Number” – RENT THE DVD!
