Beautiful Bend is the second production from Boris Midney - who made 1978 an aural experience with his U.S.A. European Connection (“Come Into My Heart/Good Loving”) project. Midney approached disco music as a professor of science taking elements which became the outline and piecing them in a new formation. His orchestrations were subtle yet unforgettable as they accented breakdowns and at times breaks of his arrangements. It was close to a disc jockey taking the working elements of songs and piecing them in new ways. “Make That Feeling Come Again!” is released under Beautiful Bend and is the cornucopia of disco of the time period. Each side in the new disco tradition of segued songs forming a message or a non-stop dancing experience. Beautiful piano and strings in this number give us another taste of Midney’s direction where the symphony is there to entertain dancers for a time period before congas and bongos take over for a few seconds. He became well known and later labeled “Art Disco” where the expectations were high and outcome from fans and followers were always underground and non-commercial.
I have taken the fabulous disco masterpiece “Make That Feeling Come Again!” from the album version and reworked it for a new ReStructure Mix. The opening is a new experience as a new defiant beat pounds the intro into the majestic bass and piano segment. This remix takes the best of the rhythmic pieces and sweet disco strings into a new candy bar.
