REISSUE: "Love Bug" by Bumblebee Unlimited - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "Love Bug" by Bumblebee Unlimited - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Patrick Adams produced Bumblebee Unlimited in 1976 - the single "Love Bug" was the start of the novelty run for this groovy disco themed project. Assisted with Greg Carmichael, Joey Badlotto, Leroy Burgess, Michael Lewis and Richard Taninbaum the band placed sped up vocals over disco rhythms with a light hearted and somewhat sexy concept.

"Lady Bug" is the first single by Bumblebee Unlimited and is featured in this strange and somewhat dark Disco Video Mix along with the 1978 Irwin Allen's "The Swarm". Of course like all Allen productions (especially his big disaster flicks like "The Poseidon Adventure" and "The Towering Inferno") there is an all-star cast - including Michael Caine, Katherine Ross, Richard Widmark, Olivia de Havilland, Patty Duke, Henry Fonda and Fred MacMurray.

The film centers around a swarm of killer African bees who make their way into American cities.

This Disco Video Mix salutes the superlative production by Allen and treat the all-fun intended "Lady Bug" single as a darker side of those dirty little singers!
