REISSUE: “Take It Slowly” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nancy Martinez

REISSUE: “Take It Slowly” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nancy Martinez

Nancy Martinez is a Canadian singer who is also known as Jade and Nancy Martin under several successful dance singles. Her 1983 album “Lay It Down” (produced by Joe La Greca) is one of the 80s artists whom brought back the beautiful sound of disco music with her vocal style. “Take It Slowly” is one of my favorite high energy tracks of the period since it flows like a lilting disco love song along with the full force electronic production. It is a return the pure disco edge and always makes one feel that positive energy that the disco dance floor is known for.

I have taken the original Canadian 12” with the vocal, instrumental and dub and re-edited a ReStructure Mix with a few new pieces added to produce a somewhat duet piece along with Ms. Barbra Streisand and another love song to accent the mood here. This one always fit into my program during its release and often refer to it when in that mood to fall in love with the true meaning of disco music all over again.
