ReStructure Mix Update (2/17/21) “Heroes” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Big Ben Tribe

Big Ben Tribe is Renato Posani, Riccardo Persi and Stefano Previsti. This trio released three singles from 1983 and 1984 and caught the attention of Italo-disco lovers with their melodic and somewhat sultry sound. Heavy on drum-like percussion from a jungle feel and synthesizers pulling along whimsical themes is the basis of their arrangements. A cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” is their second release and one of the most memorable. This one plays out with the romantic fantasy which Bowie created in the original with a full on synth-pop sound. It is quite haunting and works well for the band. This one always worked for me early in the morning for afterhours set and makes the mystery of the song more enticing than ever.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental in the ReStructure Mix arena for another spin on "Heroes”. There is a new intro featuring spots from Bowie himself and also a drop for breaks along the new version.
