Sandra (Sandra Ann Lauer) is a German pop singer who was also a member of the group, Arabesque in the late 70’s. Her producer/husband is artist, composer and songwriter, Michael Cretu (“When Love Is The Missing Word”) and brought his unique sound to her projects. “Everlasting Love” from 1987 is Sandra’s cover of the 1967 Robert Knight song that has been covered by many artists including another dance version from Vicki Sue Robinson. Sandra’s soft approach is a melancholy approach along with the sometimes striking arrangement created by Cretu. It is an 80’s feel with its dosage of synthesizers and keyboards laying the ground for this classic.
I have taken the 12” version of Sandra’s “Everlasting Love” and reinjected a new edge for this ReStructure Mix. A more power and energy driven edit with several breakdowns and a new dedication to the song itself with more of the new elements from Sandra’s arrangement.
