ReStructure Mix Update (1/26/24):”Booogiethon” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Biddu and The Orchestra

Biddu (Biddu Appaiah) is a producer, musician and songwriter who also gave us tracks from Carl Douglas and Tina Charles. His work with his orchestra brought the track “Booogiethon” from 1977 and from his project titled “Eastern Man”. This sick and horn driven piece is a great example of how early disco/dance music was gathering a fusion of musical styles. This simple chorus piece is the disco dessert that was served during the mid and onto the disco peak of 1979. A nice funky rhythm makes this one hard to remain still and also that chorus is an all-around singer along.

I have taken the 12” version of “Boogiethon” and rewired the grooves for this ReStructure Mix. I have extended the string and horn segments and created new breaks among the new arrangement.
