ReStructure Mix Update (5/14/25):”Hold Me” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sister Movie

Sister Movie is a Belgium Beat/New beat project led by Rembert De Smet - who also performed and produced many recordings for the label Subway/Antler label. “Hold Me” is a single released in 1989 and is a haunting electronic piece which features an industrial feel foundation with touches of acid house. The formula for New Beat music centered around heavy bass riffs and at most times a bizarre theme or direction. In the arena at its purest, samples are utilized over a dub-like arrangement. The underground house movement of the mid and late 80’s brought this formula into the light and gives a new identity to these elements. Sister Movie has some moving keyboard riffs which riff out over the vocoder like huge waves engulfing the acid beats.

I have taken the compilation album version of “Hold Me” and have separated the beats and rhythm into a new ReStructure Mix. A new beat track pumps up the haunting score into a new arrangement with new breaks and a cold end.
