REISSUE: “Planet Of Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Stephanie Wells

REISSUE: “Planet Of Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Stephanie Wells

Stephanie Wells is a Canadian disco project from producers Gino D’ Orazio and Tony Bentivegna. The early 80s was an experimental period for the use of electronics in dance music since productions were scaled down from the disco recording sessions of the late seventies. Stephanie’s “Planet Of Love” from the album “Fools In Love” from 1983 was a welcome sound on dance floors yearning for more of the pulsating sound of disco. It has a chorus which makes the climb worth it. Much of the arrangement is based on bass sequencers and keyboards which fit in well with the 80s dance era and its transitioning path.

I have taken the 12” single version of “Planet Of Love” and lifted some of the pieces of the pulsating bass to loop and rework the song. Along with some new drops in edits and new breaks. This is a longer voyage into a disco fantasy and another moment to understand this period of dance music at its best.
