Zina O’ is a French singer who released a cover of Diana Ross and The Supremes classic “You Keep Me Hanging On” in 1982. The production by Albert Verrechia is a vibrant synth and percussion dance track which allows Zina O’ to lay out her own style of rock edged yearning in this version. In the early 80’s there was a hunt for tracks that offered this formula and it caught my attention in the storm of many releases of the time. It has its wonderful moments where the chorus and drop outs play a great rhythmic point for the song.
I have taken the original 12” version of Zina O’s “You Keep Me Hanging On” and recreated a new arrangement and extension in this ReStructure Mix. More of the elements which matter is here again and outwardly played.
