ReStructure Mix Update (7/3/19) “If You’d Only Come Back” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Claire

Claire Chevalier began her recording career in 1965 and become one of the voices in the disco era which outlined the sound from where it begins and matured. Many of the breakthrough artists in the US club scene were artists from France, Europe and producers who knew the dance formula all too well. This gave an advantage to Claire and a sexy yet outward power in her music. “If You’d Only Come Back” is a single from 1978 on the New York disco label Prelude Records. The B-side to her disco hit “High On Love” – which is one of my favorite disco sounds with sex appeal and striking builds lyrics of uncontrollable desire. Produced by Thomas Noton and arranged by Ray Khenestsky (Black Light Orchestra, Paris Connection). Claire is a disco chanteuse would not only play out the formula well but also gives off a believable apology in this track.

I have taken the 12” version of “If You’d Only Come Back” and focused on the excitement of the chorus and breaking it down with a few new riffs and the ReStructure Mix direction. The full orchestration is in the pop tradition of disco music and allows a nice retro reflection on the 70’s its powerful influence.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Ms. Claire Chevalier
