“REISSUE: Fire Me Up” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Astaire

“REISSUE: Fire Me Up” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Astaire Astaire is one of the early studio groups in the high energy genre during the early 80’s. From the classic UK high energy label Passion Records and producers Nigel Stock and John Davies who helped again to revive the dance community with a new catalogue of artists and songs and a few remixed or reissued disco classics. “Fire Me Up” is sung by vocalist Tracy Ackerman who is one of the beautiful and powerful voices of the time in dance music. This teasing love song is set with a strong desire to start a new romance with impact beyond control. The title says it all. The production is the high-end keyboard echoing throughout pounding drums and percussion – always reminding me of a haunting “disco-Phantom of the Opera” sound. This is a single from 1986 where the energy was still alive and the sound was bringing dancers back to the floor again. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Fire Me Up” and reedited a ReStructure Mix using a few tag-lines from the verses to bring a new intro and some breaks to life. The rolling deep synths and striking keyboards are still intact so that the original form is again appreciated.
