REISSUE: "Vision Of The Future” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Segue

REISSUE: "Vision Of The Future” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Segue Segue is a high-energy dance project from producer Kevin Anthony Roberts – who also gave us projects from Simone (“It’s Too Late”), Shirley Lewis (“Didn’t Say A Word”), Linda Lewis (“You Turned My Bitter Into Sweet”), Kofi and The Lovetones (“Countdown”) and Thing (“Alien Attack”). “Vision Of The Future” was released in 1984 as medley and tribute to alternative electronic/synth-pop dance music and featured pieces of “Blue Monday” by New Order, “Kiss Me” by Tin Tin, and “Lucifer’s Friend” by Vision. The flowing energy has always captured my attention and a desire to capture this growing sound called high-energy. The pieces of the works in the medley are the shining example of the power of the 80’s takeover of the electronic keyboard and sequencers. Homage to that period and the creative edge of the artists. I have taken the 12” long version of “Vision Of The Future” and recreated a ReStructure Mix which pulls out parts of the medley which work to create its own. Much of the thumping beats from “Blue Monday” are included along with the jittery percussion elements and rolling bass sequencers. This one plays out with a few breaks and revitalized segments.
