ReStructure Mix Update (2/11/20) “Don't Let Your Chance Go Bye” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Watson Beasley

Watson Beasley is Alfred Beasley and Gina Watson – a duo that fit into the early 80’s like new glove. Their soulful voices were pumped into a sound that crossed lightly into an 80’s nu-wave edge. Produced by Peter Alves (Witch Queen, Lafleur, and Soiree), Alfred Beasley and Gina Watson and recorded in Montreal this masterpiece is one of the projects which helped to keep the 80’s alive with the matured sound of disco music which many producers and artists from Canada had created and fed. “Don’t Let Your Chance Go By” is a nice pop-edged number that always reminded me of “What A Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers with a whole lot more of soulfulness and drive. It is one of the hidden gems of the period and always brought an early dance floor to me when included in my early evening sets.

I have taken the album version of “Don’t Let Your Chance Go Bye” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix with more emphasis on rhythm and a new outline. More of the verses are set in motion with new percussion and a few samples from a Motown classic.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Alfred Endure Beasley – in thanks for his contribution to music history on the dance floor.
