ReStructure Mix Update (7/20/20) “Body Party” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Brenda Mitchell

Brenda Mitchell is a project from French disco producer Pierre Jaubert (Michelle, Chantal Curtis, Ice) whose music played a vital part in the evolution of disco music. His work became the link between soul and disco with his 1977 work under the name Michele and the project which would be picked up by West End Records and remixed by legendary Tom Moulton. The cross became the disco that would catapult itself as the outline for the dance floors of the mid and late 70s. “Body Party” is not just another link in this direction but also a track that was remixed by another player in disco history – Patrick Cowley. His remixed version from 1978 displayed his electronic touches with his keyboards and synthesizers to add energy and a new innovation as he did with Sylvester’s “Dance (Disco Heat)” and “You Make Me Feel Mighty Real”. “Body Party” is the early sound of his later production with Michele titled “Disco Dance”.

I have taken the album version of “Body Party” and used the Cowley connection to heavily recreate this ReStructure Mix. The piece is populated with Patrick’s work that is well know as he moved into the dance arena and became one of dance music’s most influential talents.
