ReStructure Mix Update (7/14/20) “101” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sheena Easton

Sheena Easton became one of the 80’s dance floor buttons to move. Her track “101” from 1988 is a piece written and produced by Prince. The song is one of the transformations from pop-dance to an underground flavor thanks to remixes by Def House and their use of house bass and kick drums. This one was a big hit in my club and carried through for months as it blended well with the Italo-house and Chicago bass house numbers of the time. Sheena delivers one of her lusty performances which give her the darkness and sensuality of what the dance floor in a disco realm is all about.

I have taken the 12” Def House remixes of “101” and recreated a darker yet disco-fied ReStructure Mix to bring this one back. All of the elements that make this one tick are still loaded and thumping out the rhythm and desire.
