Paula Moore is a singer/songwriter who recorded the single “Valparaiso” in 1983 – produced by Daniel Vandgarde who also gave us Gibson Brothers and Who’s Who. This piece is one of the laid back disco numbers that makes the room fill with a hypnotic rhythm and vibe that is close to the 50’s lounge sound. The beauty of this song holds to the wonderful vocal which Paula Moore delivers in a heart of fondness and memories. This one made its way to many jocks at the time who knew how to start off an evening or close an early morning all night dance party.
I have taken the 12” version of “Valparaiso” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix to keep this wonderful swirling number alive. I have added a few new percussion elements to fill in the exotic sound of the lasting call.
