Jersey Devil Social Club is Morgan Geist – a producer and musician who has taken the 1979 club classic “Magnifique” – originally produced by Anthony Monn and initially released under the group name Charisma and then changed to Magnifique. The tail end of the disco era was hit with a wall of synthesizers rolling along with a sexy female ensemble weaving a mysterious chant. This was the future of the 80’s high energy scene and became a cult classic immediately. Jersey Devil Social Club takes this classic into a stripped down into an impressive cover where even the thought of recapturing the song is worthy.
I have taken the 12” versions of Jersey Devil Social Club’s cover of “Magnifique” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix for homage to their efforts. This winding journey includes a few surprises and lifts the song back to where it belongs
