ReStructure Mix Update (6/9/21) “New York” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Flower

Flower is a singer who is known in the late 70’s as a sexy playmate turned disco singer. Her first project was produced and arranged by Ritchie Rome (The Ritchie Family) and gave her the underground classic “How” in 1979. Her career moved throughout the 1983 where her sensual voice still echoes the sound of the disco era. “New York” is her single from her 1982 project produced by David Chackler – a song which emphasizes a distraught lover whose love is taken away by the glitz and glamour of New York City’s nightlife. This one fits into the early high energy genre for not only the fast moving chorus but also the pumping rhythm section. It was a welcome track on my dance floor for the time and gave the peak hour a nice workout.

I have taken the 12” of “New York” and rewired the song for this ReStructure Mix. I have used one of the keyboard riffs as the outline for a new dub-like mix. More breaks are dragged into the scene here and Flower again is given her stage.
