ReStructure Mix Update (5/12/20) “Law Of The Land” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Professionals

“Law Of The Land” is a track recorded by The Temptations and The Undisputed Truth in 1973 and produced by Norman Whitfield (Rose Royce, Stargard, Gladys Knight and The Pips, Edwin Starr). The song crossed into the realm of disco with it rhythmic edge and rolling bass parts. It became one of the underground gems of the dance community and is covered here by a studio group from Belgium called The Professionals. This cover comes close to original with an electronic production lifting it into the 80’s synth-pop arena. It is close to what may have influenced Fancy’s “Come Inside” from 1984 as it shares similar bass and rhythm attributes. The Professionals version also gives a female vocal that brings the sg into more of a disco feel. Their version was released in 1985 and was produced by J.P. Bulté.

I have taken the 12” vocal and “The Land” versions of “Law Of The Land” by The Professionals and reedited a ReStructure Mix to pay tribute to this psychedelic and soulful rendition. It is played out with more of the percolating sequencers rearranged and pieces of another Motown classic from The Temptations injected.
