ReStructure Mix Update (5/14/20) “Burning Spear” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Salsoul Orchestra

The Salsoul Orchestra released their ninth project titled “Street Sense” in 1979 amidst the peak of disco music. This album was produced and mixed by Mr. Tom Moulton who was a main factor in the success of disco music and its iconic long sided vinyl mixes. The band made up of studio musicians who helped to shape the sound of soul, Philly and eventually disco music were some of the innovators of talent during the 70’s.
“Burning Spear” is an instrumental piece from the tracks which follows closely the growth and outline of The Salsoul Orchestra’s sound. A funky rendition of jazz-like melodies that are transposed to a 4/4 disco beat. The build and breakdown of musical compositions as this were always featured as the bloodline to disco music.

I have taken the album version of “Burning Spear” and focused on elements that were the rhythmic base of the piece and reassembled them into a new ReStructure Mix. There are some new breaks and segues to bring back that feeling of dancing to an adventure all over again.
