Skatt Bros. are Craig
Krampf, David Andez, Pieter Sweval, Richard Martin-Ross, Richie Fontana and Sean
Delaney. This band was formulated by Sean Delaney and Ritchie Fontana at the
tail end of the 70’s and their first album titles “Strange Spirits” was a
production from the THP team Willi Morrison and Ian Guenther (THP Orchestra,
Grand Tour, The Duncan Sisters, Sticky Fingers, Southern Exposure). The project
included two dance floor hits – “Walk The Night” and “Life At The Outpost”. The
band had a rock edge with a few remix ventures for the two tracks which caught
on to clubs. “Life At The Outpost” is a slight western flair piece that has a
catchy riff that will stick in your head with a roaring guitar twang bridge. It
was one of the big dance floor numbers in many of the gay clubs and another
shift for dance/disco music during the late 70s.
I have taken the
album version of “Life At The Outpost” and refocused on the thumping bass
chords as a foundation for this ReStructure Mix. It is not only extended but
also given more of a fade on the exit and a break with a touch of Glenn
Campbell.
