REISSUE: "Stay With Me Tonight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jeffrey Osborne

REISSUE: "Stay With Me Tonight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jeffrey Osborne Jeffrey Osborne has a distinct sound that helped to make the 1977 disco song “(Every Time I Turn Around) Back In Love Again” an instant discotheque favorite. The growing funk situation in the mid-70s was merging with a freedom that only disco could guide. He sang with the band L.T.D. until 1980 and then emerged as a solo male artist and it did not take long for his talent to pave a new future. “Baby Stay With Me Tonight” is from his 1983 project by the same title. Produced by Cheryl R. Brown and George Duke. This 80s synth pop number has that charm which Jeffrey brings to many recordings. His smooth and soulful delivery works emotions each time. The song was in the fore front of another big dance period starting to catch dance floors on fire again. I have taken the 12” vocal and dub version to give “Stay With Me Tonight” a ReStructure Mix – using some riffs both surface and hidden to lay down a new playful theme. There are some great parts to this 80s dance gem and always made me feel the energy immediately long before I saw the crowded dance floor.
