ReStructure Mix Update (1/21/21) “You’re The One” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rory Block

Rory Block is a blues guitarist who began a recording career in 1968 covering country and Mississippi Blues. The end of the 70’s brought her into the disco era where she experimented along with soul/disco producer Bobby Eli for a project aimed at dance floors. “You’re The One” is the single which became the headliner from the project and gave way to a classic percussion riff. Rory’s vocal are the fitting edge of the project which gives a soulful and bluesy sound to many of the disco motivated tracks. Performances on the session include Dexter Wansel and disco percussionist Larry Washington. Bobby Eli’s work here is the upmost for the period of disco and gives Rory a comfortable place to rest her vocals in.

I have taken the 12” version of “You’re The One” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix to give homage to Rory and Bobby Eli. The track is laid out with more extended pieces from the intro and also a couple of new breaks.
