REISSUE: “Tonight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nightlife Unlimited

REISSUE: “Tonight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nightlife Unlimited Nightlife Unlimited is a disco ensemble from Canada whose members include many musicians who are in some or another associated with club hit production - Tony Bentivegna, Johnny D'Orazio, Louis Toteda, Peter Sciascia, Peter DiMilo and George Cucuzzella. Their second album titled “Just Be Yourself” was released in 1980 on Canadian disco label Unidisc Records and was a move from the hardcore disco edge of their earlier tracks “Disco Choo Choo” and “Dance, Freak and Boogie” which followed a playful and non-stop break arrangement (featuring The Sweethearts of Sigma on vocals) and their anthem track “Love Is In You” which feels like disco music’s arrival. “Tonight” is a stripped down funk-disco number that gives the band a new sound and feel for the 80’s and the group as it moved throughout the 80’s. Lots of great hooks and electronic sweeps throughout are the magnetism of this one. I have taken the album version of “Tonight” and created a ReStructure Mix with a new identity using the moving parts of the dance track. It has a borrowed percussion track from a disco classic by Karen Young and also breaks down several times with more that you would remember.
