Marlena Shaw placed a mark with Diana Ross’ classic 1977 ballad “Touch Me In The Morning” – along with producer Meco Monardo the song was disco-fied in 1979.
Taking a song with such emotional content and delivery and creating an extension of its beauty is justice for Shaw – she recreates a scenario that not only takes the song further but also adds to it.

With a remix by John Luongo this song is now a classic piece of disco music.

I have taken Diana Ross’ fabulous “Mahogany” and placed this disco gem below the fashion and drama. It is not the Theme from Mahogany (“Do You Know Where Your Going To”) but it lends its tenderness to the Disco Video Mix.

Now considered one of the pop disco hits of it's time the song lives on through compilations and retro shows. The LP version was never remixed or extended. I have taken the time to place the track on the ReStructure block and add a few elements to spice up the track.

However, it is Maxine's vocals that make this track stand out as well as the horn sections emulating the Motown feel. It has always been a winner.

Denise later released her follow up LP "I Have A Destiny" in 1979, which again featured a great full-on disco production. Denise later married Randy Bachman of The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive and moved to Canada. Hopefully she continues to record and share her wonderful talent with the world.

Sharon Redd was a talent in the dance arena that cannot be forgotten. She began as a apart of the backup ensemble for Bette Midler known as The Harlettes and went onto paving her own sound and style in disco music.

From "Love Insurance" with Front Page to "In The Name Of Love" form her "Redd Hot" LP Sharon proved many times that her presence and vocals were a gift to clubs and disco connoisseurs everywhere.

"Activate" is a track from her third LP "Love How You Feel" which was another example of Sharon's standing a a "diva de jour"! The track received allot of play during it's initial release in 1983. It is an underground favorite of Sharon and funk fans.

I have moved the song into a new ReStructure Mix and pulled out more for the floor to take on along with Sharon's hot vocal style.

Dedicated to Sharon's mom, Katie - you are a gem and proof that a "chip off the block" is proven when it comes to beautiful souls. I love you, Katie.
