B.B. and Band is an Italian disco project from Mario Boncaldo and Tony Carrasco. The 1982 project titled “Wee Thee People” began with a big club hit from the album titled “All Night Long” and soon the group became one of the well-known and influential Italian disco productions of the early 80s. Italian disco music has always been uplifting and celebratory and this piece has the message which was the outline for the American Dream. “Wee Thee People” gives balance to the difference in each and every individual and lays out plainly that equality is the final solution. The production is a simple electronic arrangement with many of the hooks that dance music takes on to its mold. As the project introduces an ensemble which is wound up by the energy it creates, B.B. and Band make a nice statement in a time period where the shift from disco of the late 70’s becomes a model to apply a new canvas.
I have taken the 12” remix by Tony Carrasco of “Wee Thee People” along with a few pieces of the original album version and given it a new ReStructure Mix. Applying a new intro introducing the rhythm section on its own and a couple of new breaks are the new additions.
