The Rainbow Girls are a 90’s house/pop/funk ensemble featuring Lisa McLean on lead vocal and produced by Ricky Timas, Don Boyette, John D. Taylor Jr. and Michael Fish. One of the connected groups of the time when female ensembles were taking over dance floors and playlists. “Make Your Move For Love” is their initial single from 1990 and a solid dance track which features a killer break-beat foundation and a house arrangement on the 12” release. The clever take on the chorus and riffs from players with experience in an obvious display this number stands out with its roaring chorus which builds and then breaks itself down. The vocal is the power behind the force here and McLean does a fantastic job on keeping the energy moving with her style and fitting delivery. A big dance floor mover for me and one that would immediately bring the crowd into a frenzy.
I have taken the 12” house dance mix of “Make Your Move For Love” and rebuilt the piece for a new ReStructure Mix. Taking those hard hitting street beats and chopping them into a new arrangement and placing some new breaks internally are the additions to this power track.
