S.P. Clan is an Italo-disco project from Fabio Sbaragli (Catch, Fake, Camaro’s Gang) and Francesco Paolini (Stopp) from 1983 with their single “Get Down (On Love)” which presented the electronic werks reminiscent of the late 70s Giorgio Moroder period. The pulsating track features a venture into the groove of sequencers pulling us into a mild rap which informs us that we must “get down on love”. The words pull us into an uplifting chorus which is a falsetto chorus allowing a celebration which follows an outline of joyful and funky resonance. The production is a full-on electronic mastering of the simple keychords which create hypnotic patterns and dub like breaks. This release is one of the classic Italo-disco singles which stood out as an infectious arrangement and some moments that will stick far in your mind and feet.
I have taken the 12” vocal and dub version of “Get Down (On Love)” and reworked the song in a new way for this ReStructure Mix. I focused more on the mystical edge of the song and extended these parts and also left out the chorus to keep the underground feel alive.
