ReStructure Mix Update (7/26/26): “Hallucination” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Dannii Minogue

Dannii Minogue is an Australian singer who began her recording career in the early 90’s with several notable dance floor hits. Her music is a synth-pop edge with a vibrant energy which is a sound which dominated the high energy scene of the time period. “Hallucination” is a single released in 1991 as a bonus to the 12” single “Jump To The Beat” (a cover of Stacy Lattisaw’s 80s hit). The song is a departure for Dannii where this arrangement is a techno hip-hop fused arrangement which was produced by Andy Whitmore, Emma Freilich and Les Adams. There are plenty of familiar sounds in this track which are sampled from Quadrophonia and King Bee singles. The aura of the song is a haze of grooves where Dannii is able to confess her fantasy in spoken verses. It is a number that always worked during techno and raves sets and helped to define a transition during peak moments.

I have taken the 12” version of “Hallucination” and administered a new group of the samples into a ReStructure Mix. I have used parts of the original to reshape this new mix for another deeper trip.
