Candi Staton is a disco veteran who has brought songs like “Young Hearts Run Free” from 1976 - “Victim” from 1978 and “You Got The Love” from 1991. Her voice embodies the soulful sound of comfort and knowledge. Throughout her career she has found her path to inspirational music where she takes the front stage once again. “Rock” is from her 1979 album titled “Chance” which she co-produced with Jimmy Simpson. This party song is an elegant piece with a direction of freedom of one on the dance floor with a disco formulated dance by the same name. Candi works this number with her calming yet infectious approach which feels natural and so much of how we love our dosage of “Candi”.
I have taken the 12” version of “Rock” and moved the groove into a new element of ReStructure Mix. I have taken the percussion pieces and extended them into a new intro and rearranged the movement for a new time play.
