REISSUE: “Save Yourself For Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Dee Dee Martin

REISSUE: “Save Yourself For Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Dee Dee Martin Dee Dee Martin is Jill Saward – a high energy project from producers Fred Bolero and Jeff Rivell. This is one of the early breakout projects from Passion Records in the early 80’s when their dedication to keeping the disco sound from the late 70’s alive. The edge of these productions followed closely a sound created by The Simon Orchestra – plenty strings (synthetic strings), a heavy bass synthesizer and pounding orchestral drums. This sound became the dance explosion once again during this period and soon became the driving force of high energy music. “Save Yourself For Me” is a lyrical love song with the Passion Records sound that echoes their big releases “Catch Me (I’m Falling In Love)” by Marsha Raven and “Got To Get To You” by Charade. The vocal from Jill Saward is one of the sweetest parts of the track and gives it the right edge for a love song. I have taken the 12” version of “Save Yourself For Me” and recreated a ReStructure Mix which takes the beat and rhythm tracks to a new foundation. It moves the verses around and gives way to some new breakdowns.
