ReStructure Mix Update (1/12/21) “Revelation Day” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – First Vision
First Vision is an Italo-disco project from producers Franco Zasa and Tony Travagliante – who also released singles under the name Los Angeles T.F.
“Revelation Day” is their single from 1983 and reflects the innovative period of dance music from Italy which helped to reinvigorate the dance community in the early 80’s. The electronic keyboards are the magic here and play out with the patterns which hypnotized dancers to a whole new dimension of imagination and movement. The mood is a moody rhythm that works over layers of pulsating keys and sounds. It may have been the influence of work by Giorgio Moroder from the late 70’s and influenced house, techno and new age dance on to the 90’s. “Revelation Day” has a biblical reference that is obviously twisted into a somewhat uplifting message? This myth is one which always captures the attention of those who emphasize the destruction of a soul that does not follow – here, it is used in a most romantic edge with a strange haunting chorus.
I have taken the 12” single of “Revelation Day” – using the vocal and instrumental to work this new ReStructure Mix. The best of the keyboard elements are used in a transformation for this eerie sound.
