REISSUE: “City Of Night” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rational Youth

REISSUE: “City Of Night” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rational Youth Rational Youth is Kevin Komoda, Bill Vorn, and Tracy Howe – a synth-pop band from the 80’s who were influenced by the electronic sound of bands like Kraftwerk. Their 1982 album titled “Cold War Night Life” was produced by disco producer Pat Deserio who also gave us Bombers, Bob-A-Rella, Kebekelektrek and Dogs of War. The single “City Of Night” is the big release and dance floor hit from the project which created a fast paced move into a high energy/electronic feel. It is a nice demonstration of the nu-wave influence on the dance scene of the early 80’s yet following closely the club sound with more emphasis on the dance edge. I have taken the 12” version of “City Of Night” and reweaved a fast paced ReStructure Mix utilizing the 2 part keyboard sequencer and the vocoder effects. A small touch of a Donna Summer classic is added to give the “night” more excitement.
