REISSUE: “Happiness” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Christopher Street Christopher Street is a disco/high energy project from vocalist Albane Alcalay and producers Brian Springstill, Charlie Cohen and Michel Jullien. “Happiness” is from 1984 and follows closely the high energy vein of its UK label, ERC Records. This rare but effectively beautiful number relays a nice message with the high energy fanfare made popular in the early and mid-80’s. This one was an after-hours gem for me as it woke up a dance or stand-up crowd for a morning of leftover emotions and energy. I have always loved the majestic feel and odd vocal in this one. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental to recreate a new focus on this anthem in this ReStructure Mix. More of the rolling synths are extended and displayed again for an edit and reformation of the vocals by Albane. An anthem always delivers like this one.
