ReStructure Mix Update (10/11/20) “Edge Of The Razor” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Stephanie Mills

Stephanie Mills brought to dance music a soulful and soothing aura with intensity and emotion. Her 1979 hits “Put Your Body In It” and “You Can Get Over” were monumental tracks for the dance floor. Her Broadway experience in the show:”The Wiz” prior to her disco excursion made her entrance most welcome. “Edge Of The Razor” is from her 1984 album “I’ve Got The Cure” – produced by George Duke. This electronic funk-dance track is a darker side of the night as a meeting with taken partner becomes her stance to continue the danger and mystique. It is a track that does not use much of Stephanie’s range and power – but it is still a nice pop-synth number.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Edge Of The Razor” and reworked this night out in an extensive dub-like manner for this ReStructure Mix. More breaks are added and some play with loops and the existing synths are a big part of this remix.
