ReStructure Mix Update (10/2/20) “Young Men Drive Fast” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Quick

The Quick is Colin Campsie and George McFarlane and began their dance floor reign in 1979 with their big dance floor hit “Sharks Are Cool Jets Are Hot”. Their electronic work is rolling and driven as high energy music in the mid-80s. “Young Men Drive Fast” is from their 1982 album titled “Fascinating Rhythm” which features another take on the early high energy sound. This follow up single was club favorite and followed closely the disco arrangement with breaks and plenty of builds and light echoes of work from Giorgio Moroder with Sparks.

I have taken the 12” version of “Young Men Drive Fast” and reworked the energy into a new ReStructure Mix with more of a breakdown. The rock edge I felt is tapered into another 80’s pop rock 'n roll tribute in the break.
