REISSUE “Bad Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Donna Allen

REISSUE “Bad Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Donna Allen Donna Allen is an incredible vocalist. Her career began as backing vocals for Miami Sound Machine and eventually leads to her solo recording career in 1986 and her project “Perfect Timing” produced by Lou Pace (Timmy Thomas, Nicole). Her single “Bad Love” from this album was always my choice for an early evening warm-up following the success of “Serious” which caused a big impact both in radio play and club dance floors. “Bad Love” is one of those funk-fests that are powered by Donna’s soulful and powerful vocal. The electronic street production play along with the tailored sass and smooth rhythms. One of my favorite vocal performances in this genre. I have taken the 12” version of “Bad Love” and recreated a ReStructure Mix using the beats as a new emphasis on extending the power of this track. It is longer and more satisfying to hear Donna serenade this funk trial over and over.
