ReStructure Mix Update (11/14/20) “Ten Percent” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Double Exposure
Double Exposure is Charles Whittington, Joe Harris, Leonard Davis and James Williams. One of the groups that emerged in the mid-70’ The Salsoul sound was quickly becoming an outline for New York disco and many clubs began to play this groove that emerged from the Sound of Philadelphia from years earlier. The more complete edge that this production team lead by Ron Baker, Norman Harris and Earl young was a full on club mix down in the new disco format. “Ten Percent” is from their 1976 album by the same name and is a classic by all means the same effect as a song by the Temptations is a classic in the Motown genre. One of the great pieces on the Salsoul and one which deserves that long lasting play as a one of the disco “greats”.
I have taken the 12’ and instrumental versions of “Ten Percent” and reworked a more defiant ReStructure Mix. More of a dub and playful EQ is laid in the groove and gives the verses and chorus pieces a new meaning. This one is for the Salsoul enthusiasts who never seem to get enough.
