REISSUE: “Sweet San Francisco” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Queen Samantha

REISSUE: “Sweet San Francisco” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Queen Samantha Queen Samantha is a disco project from France along with producers Harry Chalkitis and Charles Ibgui. The group vocalist Gloria Brooks is the falsetto diva with a haunting delivery which always gave this band a somewhat mystical realm. Their big hit “Take A Chance” from their album “Queen Samantha II” from 1978 gave them the dance floor as it became one of the big DJ favorites and dancers release numbers. “Sweet San Francisco” is from the same project and gives the same edge as this band promises. It is a flowing piece with a moving wind which brings it into play as a journey of sorts on the dance floor. Chalkitis plays a big part of this band as he contributes many instruments and also arranges. I have taken the 12” version of “Sweet San Francisco” and reweaved a new path for this ReStructure Mix. Pieces of Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells” are placed to present that harmonic feel for the trip and some new breaks are added and extended. This one is a tribute to the band and this disco classic.
