ReStructure Mix Update (11/13/20) “Touch Me Now” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Bravo
Bravo is Romano Trevisani and Serse May – a duo that have produced many electronic disco-funk releases throughout the 80’s. This project is a curve on the disco sound which became an outline of disco music with more of the electronics that pioneers like Giorgio Moroder paved the road for. “Touch Me Now:” is from 1980 and from Bravo’s self-titled project which features a four songs and medley of pieces of music lead by Santana’s “Soul Sacrifice”. The outline of this and many other Italian disco projects focused more on instrumental parts of each track where a funky groove was accompanied by a high end chorus which again followed the disco formula of the female ensemble in Cerrone’s side long productions. This is a simple outline of the sexy side of disco music meets the Italian groove.
I have taken the 12” version of “Touch Me Now” and stripped away at the parts of the song that make it “werk” and recreated this ReStructure Mix. More of the percussion elements guide the segments that break up the song into a funky experience. This one is homage to the early 80’s Italian disco sound and how it has changed the dance floors of the time.
