ReStructure Mix Update (11/8/20) “Dim All The Lights” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Upfront

Upfront is a dance project from Jeff Halverson and Steve Berman. They released a cover of Donna Summer’s 1979 hit “Dim All The Lights” with an electro-beat arrangement that sounds closely and impressively to Kraftwerk. This on works very well thanks to the soaring vocal provided by Adrienne who makes the new version her own message. It has plenty of the 80’s feel with pounding street beats and yet the sensual feel of Donna’s self-written hit maintains its romantic aura. One of the favorites of mine from 1991 where dance music began to take another shift into techno and rave.

I have taken the 12’ vocal and dub mix of “Dim All The Lights” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix with all new pieces of the original and Upfront’s sound. It makes the classic piece sound like home again and more of the fabulous new vocal is added.
