ReStructure Mix Update (11/10/20) “Macaroni Radio” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Eddy Trauba and M.M. Greco
Eddy Trauba and M.M. Greco (Mario Mangiarano) is a pair of Italo-disco players united for a 1983 powerhouse synth-track titled “Macaroni Radio”. Produced by Riccardo Cioni and on the Italian dance label Master Dee Jay Records. This piece is of the early electronic dance projects in the Italo-disco progressive format which used heavy synthesizers for the driving energy in a mid-tempo outline. The song is a tribute to the dance sound of Italy of the time and plays out as a sing along anthem. A bit wacky and camp for the heavy edge sound yet this formula played out in a light hearted manner.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Macaroni Radio” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix to pay homage to the early Italo-disco sound. This remix places more emphasis on the driving synthesizers and heavy beats. A new percussion line is added for a sprinkle of energy.
