ReStructure Mix Update (11/5/20) “You Made Me Believe” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Collins and Collins
Collins and Collins are a group from 1980 which featured the track “You Made Me Believe” – produced by John Davis. The project followed the disco era and into the 80’s new rendition of what dance floors were looking for. It is laid out in a rhythm & blues fashion which presents a challenge for the arrangement from John Davis – although you can hear his trademark bongo rhythms below this one. The soulful vocal from the Collins duo is an uplifting part of this song which was lost unfortunately in the early 80’s where most dance releases were not being promoted as they should have. Still this dance number has some great qualities as well as the energy from the delivery.
I have taken the album version of “You Made Me Believe” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix to pay tribute to Mr. John Davis and his contributions to dance music. There is a new percussion riff added to express more of a disco element and the breaks are centered on the drop out effects.
