REISSUE: “High Rise” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ashford & Simpson Ashford and Simpson are musicians, songwriters and performers who have made music history with songs like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “I’m Every Woman”. Their musical exploration has created a big impact in the industry which helped to reshape and create paths for musical substance and fusion of soul and disco music. “High Rise” is a single from their 1983 album by the same name and is a song that outlines a relationship where the breaks are evident when one leaves for opulence and a new life outside the mediocre. It was a big pick for DJs for club play and makes another mark in their songwriting and performance once again. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental to recreate a new ReStructure Mix for “High Rise”. This time around there is a dub-like intro with the bass looping and a more instrumental path throughout the mix.
